This week saw the return of the back to work routine for many across the UK, with schools and businesses starting to reopen, but many are still uncertain as to whether or not it is safe. Here at Clean That we have followed the relevant guidelines to help provide a safe and welcoming working environment for our colleagues to return to. So what are the top 5 tips to get back on track in the workplace:
- Promote the importance of washing your hands, have hand sanitiser readily available for everyone to use around the workplace. It’s key to have some positioned at the entrance of the building, so people can know they’re starting afresh when they arrive. Have you thought about dispensers? Having dispensers located at eye level is a sure way to get interest and prompt people to use them.
- Ensure all surfaces (desks, tables etc) and objects (keyboards, laptops etc) are wiped down regularly. To achieve this, have cleaning products and wipes handy for your colleagues to use.
- Practice social distances where possible, this can be done by restricting the number of people in one office/room at one time, placing signs on walls and floors marking a 2-metre distance, or introducing different work patterns/work times to lower the number of people in work at one time.
- Provide PPE where possible, if you work in a customer-facing business, face masks or visors are recommended, if you work in an office environment screens between desks is a good option to avoid direct contact from one person to another.
- Promote all of the processes you have put into place, continue to raise awareness of the importance of following the guidelines. Create posters and display them around the building, you could also provide flyers to everyone on their return.
All of these little steps can help make a big difference to you and your colleagues, allowing you to feel reassured that you’re doing all you can to stay safe as you start to get back on track.
