As from today the rule of six begins, but what does this look like across the UK:
England
- You can only meet in groups of 6 as from Monday 14 September
- This applies to gatherings both indoors and outdoors
- Pubs and restaurants will remain open, but only tables of up to 6 allowed
- All gatherings of 6 can be from multiple households
- Limit of 6 applies to all ages, including babies
- When together to keep 1m distance where possible
Scotland
- You can only meet in groups of 6 as from Monday 14 September
- This applies to gatherings both indoors and outdoors
- Pubs and restaurants will remain open, but only tables up to 6 allowed
- All gatherings of 6 to be from 2 households only
- Rule only applied to age 12+
- When together to keep 2m distance where possible
Wales
- Rule of 6 applies to indoor gatherings only
- Gatherings indoors to only be with 2 households
- Outdoor gatherings still allowed up to 30 from multiple households
- Rule only applied to age 12+
- When together to keep 2m distance where possible
- Pubs and restaurants will remain open, but only tables up to 6 allowed
Northern Ireland
- Rule of 6 applies to indoor gatherings only
- Gatherings indoors to only be with 2 households
- Outdoor gatherings allowed up to 15 from multiple households
- Limit of 6 applies to all ages, including babies
- When together to keep 2 metre distance where possible
- Pubs and restaurants will remain open, but only tables up to 6 allowed
Workplaces, schools, weddings, funerals and places of worship are exempt from the rule across all of the UK.
