Following Boris’s announcement confirming certain business sectors can re-open from July 4th, other than booking in to get our haircut, what else is changing and what more can we do:
- The two-metre rule is being reduced to one metre, it is however still advised to stay two metres apart where possible
- Different households are allowed to visit each other and socialise either outside or inside, but a social distance of one metre must still be adhered to, this means you are still unable to hug your loved ones.
- No more than two households can meet at a time when meeting indoors.
- Weddings are allowed to take place but with no-more than 30 guests in attendance, and social distancing must be practiced.
- Business owners will require your personal details and have the right to hold them for up to 30 days to assist with contact tracing if required.
What businesses are allowed to re-open?
- Pubs, bars & restaurants (Not nightclubs or casinos)
- Hotels, holiday apartments, campsites and caravan parks
- Theatres and music halls (but no live performances allowed)
- Hair Salons and Barbers (but not beauticians)
- Libraries, community centres and galleries
- Cinemas
- Funfairs, theme parks and amusement arcades
- Skating rinks
- Zoos, aquariums, farms, safari parks and wildlife centres
All the above businesses must adhere to government rules and regulations and will have certain measures in place for both their colleagues and visitors safety. You will be asked to follow these guidelines and failure to do so will result in them having the right to ask you to leave.
This is a massive and positive step in the right direction, slowly but surely we are easing lockdown and getting back to some sort of normality, but we must all be sensible and keep to the guidelines to help ensure we continue to move in the right direction.
